The Finger of Death is a deadly spell known only to the Hierophant Druids, and
which should only ever be used when and if peaceful negotiations fail, for it
is against the Way to wantonly strike down any creature, unless it is seriously
upsetting the Balance and cannot be convinced to stop. The spell stops the
targets heart for several seconds, while simultaneously enhancing his or her
metabolism. Thus the target is denied a supply of blood when he or she needs it
most! The effects on the target can be horrifying. Some creatures, even the
very toughest, can be killed outright by the shock to their system. Should he
or she survive, the target will still take massive damage, and be unable to do
anything until his or her heart restarts, during which time, the Druid will
also be too drained to move. The spell is also unusual in that it will do
proportionally more damage to creatures as they get tougher!

Be wary, though, for this spell can backfire. Although the chance is very low,
it rises sharply if it is used for wanton killing.
