To perform the ritual, a HeartStone must be obtained<br /> and infused with some of the living energy of the caster. This process is<br /> draining, and for as long as the infused HeartStone exists, the caster will<br /> need to continue to expend his own energy to keep it fully charged.<br /> <br /> Once the HeartStone is prepared the ritual can be used upon whichever unwitting<br /> victim takes your fancy. While there is no immediate effect to the victim, a<br /> spiritual link is set up between the target and the HeartStone, and should the<br /> victim die while the ritual is active, their soul will be sucked from their<br /> body and trapped within the Stone. While so trapped they cannot be raised from<br /> the dead and they can be further tormented by the caster.
