New page

'''--=== Help for Necromancer Command (summon) ===--'''
'''Syntax: Summon <creature>'''

'''Summon Minions'''
The ritual of Summonation is related to, but subtley different from that of
Raise Undead. Whereas the former imbues a corpse with an evil sprit, a
Summonation calls the spirit directly to the Necromancer with no need of a
suitable recepticle. There are three different types of Summonation, which are:

'''Shade (Cost 8mp)'''
The Shade is a minor undead spirit, that can be summoned to dwell
within the Necromancer's body. While it lends the summoner no
direct aid, a strange side effect of its existance is that they
can no longer be scried by normal methods.

'''Banshee (Cost: 20mp)'''
A banshee is an incorporeal spirit that dwells within the
Necromancer's own body for a certain length of time. Carrying an
Undead spirit in this way is draining, and will cause a drop in
the max hit points of the caster. The Banshee will not aid the
Necromancer in any way, unless he is slain. Should the caster's
life be violently ended, the Banshee will immediately launch
itself shrieking from the corpse; flaming eyes and teeth dripping
green ichor, and pass through the killer, causing terrible injury
before dissipating. Many a fool has struck down a Necromancer only
to join them at once in death....

It is rumoured that very occasionally the Banshee can actually
block the killing blow altogether and restore life to the Necromancer!

'''Horde (Cost: 25mp)'''
The Undead Horde is a mass of Undead minions similar to those
brought into being via the 'raise' ritual, that will drag
themselves from their resting places to rally to the Necromancer's
banner. Unlike a 'raise', no corpses are required - the ritual
summons them from deep below the ground from forgotten graveyards.
The exact creatures summoned may vary, but when first gained will
be a Wraith, a Wight, 2 Ghouls, 3 Zombies and 3 Skeletons. Higher
level casters may find their Hordes are stronger. The Horde will
only last for one minute, but during that time it will be a thing
of horror. A horde can be summoned only once every 20 minutes.

'''Revenant (Cost: 30mp)'''
A returner is an Undead spirit similar to a Banshee that dwells
within the caster until he is slain. However, instead of then
damaging the killer, the Revenant empowers the Necromancer to do
so herself, despite being dead! The Necromancer will now find
that she may 'drain' her killer until the Revenant dissipates,
causing terrible wounds and leeching the very life force from
her victim. For as long as the Returner lasts, the Necromancer
may not be raised from the dead, but during this time she can do
very considerable damage indeed to her killer!

Cost: 8mp (Summon Shade)
Cost: 20mp (Summon Banshee)
Cost: 25mp (Summon Undead Horde)
Cost: 30mp (Summon Revenant)
Cast Time: 5.00 seconds
