Snare

Syntax: Snare <type>
Snaring
Developed from a form of hunting, a high level Ranger has a formidable skill
with traps and snares. Such snares are normally used to disable or trap an
opponent rather than kill, although the Ranger can use any type he so desires.
There are four main types of snare within the repetoire of a high level Ranger,
which are listed below:
Snare Types | ||
---|---|---|
Name | Description | Cost |
Tripwire | Anyone entering the room runs a risk of tripping over the tripwire and being stunned until they recover their senses. | 50 sp |
Mantrap | This trap closes around the victims 'foot', hurting them, and stunning them while they break free of the trap's jaws. | 70 sp |
Pit | A basic pit trap. A creature falling in will need to climb out before they can move anywhere. Damage from the fall is very slight. | 90 sp |
Spikes | Similar to the pit trap, the difference is that the pit contains sharp spikes, which can easily kill anyone falling in! | 110 sp |
The snares are listed here in increasing order of difficulty. Although they can all be used at the same skill level, the chance of the snare being correctly set, and how long it takes to build, decrease and increase respectively with the later snares.
Allowable Terrains: Forest, Plains, Hills, Mountains, Town, Swamp, Jungle, Desert, Tundra, Snowplains and Treetops* (*except for pits, for obvious reasons). Note: Tripwire snares may be set indoors.
Cost: variable.
