--=== Help for Druid Command (liveoak) ===--

Syntax: Liveoak or Liveoak <tree>

Liveoak
As every Druid knows, Treants, or 'Ents' as they are often known, are a race in their own right, but that the species originally had a magical genesis. Long before Humans first appeared, the mightiest Elven and Nymph Druids gave form to the spirit of the forest, and thus was created the first of their kind. Although the secret of the creation is now lost, this spell can, to a far lesser degree, animate a lesser Ent from a magically created tree, which will then willingly serve the Druid until released. Such a creature is very strong, and will obey simple commands (though it cannot understand 'tell's or 'shout's.) Maintaining the enchantment on a lesser Ent will require the continual expenditure of magic points, and it will only revert to its natural form when the caster runs out of mp, or when commanded to 'revert' by the caster.

Since the Ent is actually an embodiment of the spirit from which a Druid draws her power, she should be *most* careful that the Ent does not die before it reverts, for otherwise it could harm her rapport with the force that spirit, reducing her ability to use woodcraft spells thereafter. Fortunately, when in a forested environment, the Ent can heal at a vastly increased rate, so this should not be a problem unless the Druid were to flout the Way, and use the Ent as a shield in combat!

When ordered to 'revert', the Ent will turn back into a tree, which could be animated again later. Alas when done indoors, the Ent will instead disappear, although no harm will come to the Druid doing so.

Cost: 17mp
