Alignment
Rangers are dedicated to nature and life in all its forms, and strive to defend it from the ravages of civilization. While personal freedoms are key to a Ranger's world view, so too is the view that life is to be preserved where possible. Just as the life of an animal is not to be taken without due cause, so too must a Ranger avoid wanton destruction unless vital. Whereas a Druid will walk a path of neutrality, viewing the world as wheels within wheels and cycles of life and death, to a Ranger the slaughter of innocents is abhorrent, be they wolf cubs, a proud stag, or even humans, unless they come to destroy that which the Ranger holds dear.

Thus Rangers sway decidedly towards the 'good' side on the great pendulum of good and evil, and should endeavour to be free of the shadow of evil deeds. For while a Ranger gains no benefit for being saintly over just plain nice, once he begins to walk a path into darkness the creatures of the forests will begin to abandon him, and his training will become harder and harder to recall
