Kako was walking past Chonjara's lab, when he heard a terrible crash and so went to investigate. Some hapless newbie who was shifting crates of vials had bumped into one of Chonjara's experiments resulting in shards of broken glass and a thick gloop littering the floor. Kako was about to scold the incompetent fool for being so recklessly clumsy when he noticed the combination of goo and glass shards had attached itself to end of his whip, which was trailing along the floor. An idea blossomed in Kako's mind and he carefully applied the resin gloop along the length of his whip and allowed the shards of broken glass to adhere to it. And so from this rather fortunate accident the method of sharding a whip was added to the repertoire of rogues dirty tricks.
