State Types
The State two types are Disposition and Posture.
Disposition and Posture are reflections of the type of abilities you commonly use. Using the State command, you can see what your current set of alignments for each.
A Disposition to the right (in yellow) means that abilities (listed under the Abilities command) as having an affinity for Chi will perform better, via the Volatile Effect.
The overall performance of an ability's Volatile Effect comes from the sum of it's affinities compared against your current State.
For example: Kick has an affinity for a Physical Disposition, and an Offensive Posture. Your State starts out in balance, with no bias. As you use Kick (and only Kick), your current State will start to appear with a Disposition towards Physical and a Posture towards Offensive.
This is great for your kicks, because the Volatile Effect makes them hit for a bit more damage each time. However, abilities with an affinity for Chi Disposition or Defensive Posture will suffer, and perform with less power.
This makes for an ideal scenario where a combination of abilities with mixed affinities will keep a Monk roughly in a State of balance at any given time.
This also means an Extreme minded monk can become a virtual tank or glass cannon.
