Absorb Mana
This spell, which is a variation on Disintegration, can prove very useful to
the Warmage who needs to use his magic extensively over a short period.
Traditional methods of healing restore physical health and mental energy at the
same rate, meaning that Warmages may frequently find themselves in good health
but still mentally exhausted. By means of this spell, one can absorb the raw
energy from an item of food in such a way as to channel its healing potential
to restore one's mental health to a greater extent than one's physical
well-being. While, just like eating, the influx of energy does cause one to
become fuller, one does not become as bloated as had one ingested the
foodstuffs by conventional means.
A further consequence of this spell's relationship with Disintegration is that the Warmage need not be holding the item in question and can freely absorb from items of food in the same room or even held by another individual!
This spell can be used in combat but it is less effective in such circumstances, relieving only the mental exhaustion and doing nothing for any physical injury. Nonetheless, this does have the beneficial side-effect that it will not interfere with shroud!
