Legend Lore
The Warmages are the original purveyors of eldritch literature, and have always investigated the unknown. Thus it was not long before one of their founding members developed a spell whose value lay more in research than in combat. The Legend Lore spell tries to tune into any magical vibrations in the target object, in an attempt to learn what magical properties, if any, it has. The spell is quite powerful, and can normally even detect any command words that may be required to activate whatever magic lies dormant within. However, one must be careful not to use it upon an object that has been subject to the 'Enchantment Arcane' spell, for this leaves a powerful aura on the item, which the Legend Lore spell may misinterpret.
